About Landscaping & Landscape Design
A landscape on the Texas Gulf Coast has two jobs: look good, and survive. Heavy clay soil that bakes hard in July and turns to gumbo in a May downpour will kill a plant chosen for the wrong reason, and a bed shaped without thinking about where water goes will wash out the first time a storm parks over the county. We design around those facts rather than against them.
Outdoor Paradise handles the whole landscape — layout and plant selection, bed shaping and soil prep, sod, planting, mulch, rock and clean edges. Because we also run irrigation, drainage and hardscaping crews, a yard that needs a drain line under the new bed or a stone border along the walk gets all of it from one company, in the right order, instead of three contractors blaming each other.
What we handle
- Landscape design and planting layout for front yards, back yards and commercial frontage
- Planting beds — shrubs, ornamental grasses, perennials and small trees
- Sod installation and tired-lawn renovation
- Soil prep, bed shaping and grading before anything goes in the ground
- Mulch, decorative rock and clean bed edging
- Tree rings, borders and bed definition that keeps the mower honest
- HOA common areas, entry monuments and commercial grounds
How a landscape project runs
- 1
Walk the property
We come out, look at the site, listen to what you want and note the practical stuff — sun and shade, where water runs, what the soil is doing, what the HOA expects. The visit and the estimate are free.
- 2
Plan and plant list
You get a straightforward plan: what goes where, which plants, how much sod, what the bed lines look like, and what it costs. No surprise line items on install day.
- 3
Prep and grade
Beds get shaped and the soil gets amended, old turf and weeds come out, and anything that needs to be fixed below the surface — a low spot, a drain line, an edge — gets fixed before the first plant goes in.
- 4
Install and walk it with you
Plants, sod, mulch and edging go in, the site gets cleaned up, and we walk the finished yard with you and go over watering while everything is establishing.
Why it lasts here
Chosen for clay and heat
Plant selection starts with what tolerates Gulf Coast clay, full Texas sun and the odd hard freeze — not with what looked good at the garden center in March.
Grading comes first
A bed that traps water drowns its own plants and sends runoff at your foundation. We shape grade and drainage before planting, not after the first complaint.
Paired with irrigation
New sod and new beds need water on a schedule. We can design the planting and the sprinkler zones together so the coverage actually matches what is in the ground.
Residential and commercial
The same crew that installs a front yard in Pearland keeps an HOA entrance or a commercial frontage looking presentable year round.
